Sectors of activity and policy areas

The thematic classification adopted by AVSI responds to the need to adequately reflect the interdisciplinary nature of its interventions. It allows for the different dimensions characterizing each project to be properly recognized, acknowledging the relevance of cross-cutting components alongside the main sector of reference. For each intervention, a primary sector is therefore identified, complemented, where relevant, by additional sectors and sub-sectors in which the project operates, taking into account also the approaches adopted and the implementation mechanisms. In addition to the sectors of activity, specific cross-cutting thematic areas have been defined, linked to particularly relevant policy areas. In line with the principles of relevance and clarity set out in the applicable Guidelines, the data presented in this Report are organized according to the main sectors of activity and the identified areas of intervention.
