As an institution authorized by the Italian Commission for Intercountry Adoption AVSI has been operating in India since 2023 through the acquisition of the authorized Italian entity Amici di Don Bosco.
In 2023/2024 through the campaign "We Desire Peace" AVSI has committed to support Talitha Cumi Unnati, a center that provides orphaned children with basic needs and access to education, with a focus on girls. The center is located in the rural village of Mulapadu, in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, and was founded in 2019 by Salesian friar Don Bosco Darsi.
