What Distance support program is
Distance Support is a program that consists in taking care of a child in a vulnerable condition and accompanying them in their education until their age of majority.
A network of social workers and assistants from AVSI or its partners takes care of the child's needs, establishing a personal relationship.
They ensure that every child in the program has access to education and has everything they need to go to school, that they have at least one meal a day and a healthy diet, that they receive the necessary medical care. A
VSI's Distance Support is also committed to promoting the social and economic strengthening of the child's family, so that the family itself can generate a positive change in the life of the whole community.

Start supporting a child
A small gesture that helps a child grow up.
AVSI social workers met Marié a few years ago in a village in Rwanda. She was seriously malnourished.
Shortly after this meeting Giulio chose to gift his wife Sveva a distance support with AVSI. Marié's life has now changed. And so has Giulio's and Sveva's. Today Marié is 5 years old, attends the village kindergarten, and her family has received the necessities to provide her with a healthy and nutritious diet. This is all thanks to the help of Giulio and Sveva.Want to help another child like Marié grow up?
