Child education In the cities of Oaxaca and Campeche, together with two local organizations, Crecemos DIJO and Centro de Solidariedad Juvenil (CSJ), we work in the areas of informal education, nutritional education and family support through the distance support project that helps over 700 children from poor areas outer-urban areas.
The center. In 2011, AVSI helped build the "Maria de Guadalupe" multifunctional center in the Monte Alban colony of Oaxaca, a region inhabited by more than 6,000 people in conditions of marginalization and great poverty. The center has a cafeteria that feeds 400 children every day, supports 150 families and organizes activities that involve families and the entire community. An extraordinary project implemented by Crecemos DIJO in collaboration with distance support, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), major companies like EnelCuore Onlus, Panino Giusto, Humana, the Spanish NGO, CESAL, and our Tents campaign.
Vocational training. In recent years, some educational training have begun, supported by the CEI and the European Union, to train teachers and educators in collaboration with Crecemos DIJO and Mexico City's Universidad IberoAmericana.
