Based in Peru since 1989, AVSI is working in Lima's marginalised neighborhoods and in the poorest and most isolated rural communities with educational, training and agricultural projects
Training for younger generations. AVSI works in Huachipa, an outer-urban area east of Lima, through a center that works to integrate young people into work and provided technical assistance to micro and small textile companies.
The commitment to education. AVSI supports 235 children from the poorest sections of the population in kindergartens, schools and educational centers thanks to our Distance support project and our partner CESAL.
An integrated approach to agriculture. In the Amazonas and Junin regions, we are supporting cooperatives of small farmers of cocoa and coffee with training courses and production aid, enhancing the quality of the region's "criollo" cocoa. AVSI also continues to support rural communities in the Ica region, where we intervened to help the population following an earthquake in 2007.
