AVSI is seeking to recruit suitably qualified personnel for the position of Coach to be responsible for facilitation of structured group sessions using the approved Game Connect curriculum, promote safe and inclusive participation, identify emerging protection and psychosocial concerns, facilitate appropriate referrals, and support youth to access services and opportunities that contribute to their psychosocial wellbeing, resilience and self-reliance.

Principali compiti e responsabilità
• Mobilise, identify and enrol eligible youth in accordance with approved project criteria and tools.
• Support baseline, routine and endline assessments and maintain accurate participant records.
• Promote safe, inclusive and meaningful participation of girls, boys, refugees, host-community youth and youth with disabilities.
• Identify and appropriately refer participants requiring specialised MHPSS, health, protection or other services.
• Mobilise and facilitate structured youth group sessions using the approved Game Connect Sport for Mental Health curriculum, adapting delivery appropriately to the age, context, abilities and identified needs of participants while maintaining fidelity to the approved methodology.
• Use sport and structured games as a safe and inclusive entry point for promoting psychosocial wellbeing, social connection, resilience, positive coping and life skills.
• Participate in household visits and follow-up activities as guided by the project and in accordance with approved procedures.
• Support identification of household-level barriers affecting youth participation, wellbeing, protection or self-reliance and communicate relevant findings through established project mechanisms.
• Support community engagement activities that promote acceptance, inclusion and participation of youth in Game Connect activities.
• Support mapping and updating of available referral and service points within the implementation areas.
• Support implementation and monitoring of approved economic empowerment activities, including Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), financial literacy and Income Generating Activities (IGAs), where these form part of the Game Connect intervention.
• Liaise with the UOC Liaison Officer and other relevant technical personnel to support the quality, safety and consistency of sport delivery within youth groups.
• Apply AVSI safeguarding, PSEAH, Code of Ethics, child safeguarding, data protection and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Monitor participant progress, identify emerging challenges and contribute to programme learning.
• Support accountability to participants by providing information, responding appropriately to concerns and facilitating access to feedback and complaints mechanisms.

Competenze ed esperienze richieste
• The ideal candidates MUST have a minimum of a Diploma in Social Sciences or Community Development or Social Work, Education or related discipline.
• Demonstrable ability to coach, mentor and build capacity of participant to cope and become resilient.
• Experience in community work preferably within an NGO or government is highly desired.
• Experience working with refugees and host communities is desirable.
• Flexibility to work both in a team and independently
