Country Representative AVSI Libya

AVSI is an international NGO operating in Libya through the implementation of humanitarian and development programmes.
Within the framework of the “MA’AN (INSIEME) – Integrated Health, WASH, Education and Child Protection Programme in Libya”, AVSI is recruiting for its office in Benghazi a Protection Coordinator

Principali compiti e responsabilità

The Protection Coordinator will be responsible for:

- Coordinating the implementation of all protection-related activities to ensure achievement of project objectives.
- Planning and organizing protection interventions in accordance with the project workplan, timeline and agreed methodologies.
- Supervising the implementation and quality of protection services, awareness sessions, referrals, case management and capacity-building activities.
- Coordinating with the local and international partners, local authorities, protection actors, and any other relevant stakeholders in order to insure a good implementation of the activities at a local level.
- Managing the collaboration with the local partner and ensuring timely and quality implementation of delegated activities.
- Conducting and supporting protection needs assessments, consultations and analysis among target communities.
- Developing and overseeing protection tools, methodologies and monitoring mechanisms.
- Collecting, analyzing and consolidating protection-related data and contributing to periodic narrative reports.
- Ensuring full compliance with AVSI procedures, donor regulations and protection standards.
- Reporting regularly to the Country Head of Programmes and supporting him/her in the overall coordination, strategic planning, monitoring, and successful implementation of the MA'AN project.
- Supporting the Country Representative in identifying new protection needs, developing project concepts and contributing to proposal development and fundraising initiatives.

Requisiti essenziali

The successful candidate should hold a university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Social Sciences, Humanitarian Action, International Relations, Law, Psychology, or another relevant field, with at least 2 years of professional experience with international NGOs or humanitarian organizations in Libya, preferably in the fields of child protection and/or education.

Competenze ed esperienze richieste

- Proven experience in coordinating/implementing international development or humanitarian projects in Libya
- Good knowledge of humanitarian protection principles, safeguarding, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), Gender and Inclusion, and Do No Harm approaches.
- Experience working with local partners, authorities and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
- Strong planning, organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic (written and spoken); Knowledge of Italian is a strong asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in multicultural teams.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
