At just ten years old, Jude embodies determination, curiosity, and a deep desire to learn—qualities that shine despite the economic challenges her family faces. Coming from a modest household with limited educational opportunities, Jude’s parents work hard to provide a nurturing environment, believing that education is the greatest gift they can offer their children.

In Qudsaya, Rural Damascus, Jude participated in the educational support program implemented by AVSI during August and September. From the very beginning, Jude stood out for her enthusiasm and commitment. Through the program’s tailored learning sessions and structured recreational activities, she gradually strengthened her academic performance, built her self-confidence, and developed stronger communication and social skills. The material support she received—such as school supplies—also relieved some of the financial pressure on her family, allowing her to focus entirely on her studies.

Today, Jude speaks proudly about her progress and dreams for the future. Her story is a powerful reminder that when determination meets the right support, children can overcome obstacles and unlock their full potential. Jude’s journey underscores the transformative impact of investing in education—not only for individual children, but for the advancement and resilience of the entire community.

AVSI, thanks to the support of the Syria Humanitarian Fund, is implementing a project “Integrated Protection and Education Initiative for Community Resilience in Qudsaya,”, from October 2024 to February 2026, in the area of Rural Damascus. The project aims to enhance resilience and well-being in Qudsiya, through integrated protection and education services for vulnerable populations affected by conflict and socio-economic crises. Until now, the project involved 1,865 beneficiaries.
