Support for the Fadaii Educational Center in Southern Lebanon
Support Fadaii, an educational center in Southern Lebanon where relationships are rebuilt and dignity is restored to those who lost everything during the war.
In southern Lebanon, near the border with Israel, the Fadaii Center is now one of the few safe and active spaces for hundreds of children and families.
After the most intense phase of the bombings at the end of 2024, AVSI resumed remedial classes, psychosocial support, and recreational activities at the center.
Fadaii also continues to be a hub for humanitarian aid distribution and reconstruction projects, coordinated with local partners.
Although the area remains tense, thousands of children and their families find care, support, and opportunities at Fadaii.
What We Will Do With Your Donation
In October and November 2024, Lebanon experienced one of its worst crises since the civil war: over 3,700 deaths, 17,000 injured, and 1 million displaced people.
The ceasefire of November 27, 2024, reduced the intensity of the fighting, but bombings continue, and the reconstruction process remains stalled.
Many families are still unable to return to their villages, dozens of schools have been destroyed, basic services are still lacking in the South, and economic activities are at a standstill.
The Fadaii Center is a stable point of reference in a fragile context, where AVSI works alongside local authorities to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure and support families on their path to recovery.
With your donation, we will continue the center’s activities and expand our work in the area:
- Education: remedial classes, Arabic, English, and math lessons, recreational activities, and advocacy
- Psychosocial support: support hotlines, listening groups, and art therapy for children in safe spaces
- Basic services: distribution of aid to displaced families, vocational guidance, and training
- Economic support: financial assistance for families who lost their homes and livelihoods
- Rehabilitation: interventions on damaged schools and infrastructure
