AVSI Foundation had the honor of hosting a delegation from the GIZ Uganda Energy and Climate cluster in Lamwo District.

The team engaged with a number of entrepreneurs who are leveraging productive use of energy with funding from GIZ since 2019 under the Energy Solutions for Displaced Settings Project, VET Toolbox 2, and the Green People Project to 600 small and medium entrepreneurs, women and youth across Uganda.

This was a valuable opportunity to witness firsthand how access to energy - even in humanitarian settings, can drive transformative change to empower communities and foster sustainable development.

Thanks to a constructive partnership with GIZ that has been lasting for six years, we have been able to support micro, small and medium entreprises to productively use electricity, access appliances, acquire relevant skills and thus improving their livelihoods.
