Within an archaeological project funded by AICS in partnership with the University of Bologna and Catania, the Lawyer will facilitate the legal registration of a new association in Iraq of workers specialised in producing mud bricks and draft the association’s statute (bylaws) in line with Iraqi law and project objectives. Moreover, he/she will support the legal establishment of a consortium with relevant stakeholders.

Main tasks and responsibilities
1. Legal registration of an Association of specialized experts of mud bricks.
2. Finalize the statute of the association.
3. Define membership rights, obligations, and governance mechanisms.
4. Provide legal advice on consortium structure and compliance with Iraqi law.
5. Draft and finalize the consortium agreement.
6. Clarify roles, responsibilities, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
7. Provide advisory and legal support.
8. Perform any other relevant duties as required.
Essential Requirements
• Master's degree in Law (Commercial/Corporate Law).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in company registration and legal advisory in Iraq.
• Demonstrated experience drafting statutes, bylaws, and consortium agreements.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi corporate, labour, and civil law.
Required skills and experiences
• Strong organizational skills.
• Fluency in Arabic (mandatory); knowledge of English is an asset.
