Palestine. Education and humanitarian aid
Support education for children in the West Bank and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Holy Family Parish in Gaza City through the Latin Patriarchate.
AVSI is committed to continuing its support for children and their families in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, who have become even more vulnerable due to the ongoing crisis.
In particular, AVSI will reach families in Gaza through the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. In constant contact with Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, AVSI will send funds to the Patriarchate to purchase essential goods and humanitarian aid, which will be distributed through the Holy Family Parish—now a key hub for local relief efforts.
In the West Bank, AVSI will collaborate with the Custody of the Holy Land to support school fee payments, organize educational and recreational extracurricular activities, prevent school dropout, and provide psychosocial support to young children.

Humanitarian aid for families in Gaza through the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem
Since October 7, 2023, the Holy Family Parish in Gaza City has welcomed over 700 people of different faiths, providing shelter and essential goods. Between February and May 2025, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, with AVSI’s support, reached over 40,000 people, distributing 800 tons of aid. AVSI plans to continue this collaboration in 2026 to ensure ongoing humanitarian support for families in Gaza.
Support for 540 children and 20 teachers in six schools in the West Bank
The ongoing conflict is severely affecting families’ ability to meet their children’s basic needs and students’ ability to attend school. Concern for the present and future is extremely high, and since October 2023, AVSI has been doing everything possible to ensure continuity of its interventions.
In the West Bank, AVSI supports six schools, five of which are affiliated with the Custody of the Holy Land in East Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Jericho. The organization provides access to education through tuition support and extracurricular and recreational programs. The goal is to prevent school dropout and promote the psychosocial well-being of children, teachers, and families.
Children and youth in the West Bank are frightened and feel extremely vulnerable. We are committed to not leaving them alone. Now more than ever, children need relationships where they feel safe and can rebuild trust. The educational programs of the Custody of the Holy Land schools aim to be a resource for the new generations of Palestinians, and through this campaign, we want to support and strengthen them.
