Italy. Supporting foster care for Unaccompanied Foreign Minors
Help migrant minors find stability, care, and a future within a family.

Every year, thousands of migrant teenagers arrive in Europe, often alone, in search of protection and a dignified future. In Italy, many of them are classified as Unaccompanied Foreign Minors (UFM): vulnerable young people without family support, in need of care, stability, and concrete paths to integration.
AVSI, in collaboration with Famiglie per l’Accoglienza, promotes foster care as a concrete and humane response to this need. The project trains and supports foster families, raises awareness in civil society, and strengthens existing local networks.
