The Annual Report summarizes the contents of the Social Report, presenting in a concise and visual way the results and impact of AVSI’s projects around the world. However, our Annual Report is much more than a summary document.
It is the story of one year of work, told through people, numbers, and experiences that express our way of pursuing development — together, and with a purpose.
Through it, we share our commitment to transparency and accountability. We explain how we manage resources responsibly, measures results, and continually learn from the field. But above all, it shows how every project — whether in education, health, livelihood, or emergency response — contributes to promoting peace, dignity, and opportunity for people and communities.
Reading it means discovering how trust becomes action, and how the generosity of donors and partners translates into measurable change: children who go to school, families who rebuild after crises, young people who find work, communities that grow stronger together.
Under the title “Actions for Peace”, the 2024 Annual Report emphasizes that every project — whether in education, health, agriculture, or economic development — contributes to building peace as a cross-cutting and essential dimension of our mission.
This year, we chose to highlight within the document the strategic elements that illustrate impact, key projects, and main development trajectories, offering a clear and concise overview of our work.
2024 Highlights: innovation, listening, partnership
- Systematic use of advanced digital tools, such as ActivityInfo, to enhance data quality and impact measurement.
- A global feedback mechanism, allowing beneficiaries to share suggestions and critiques that are integrated into AVSI’s continuous improvement processes.
- A strengthened model of shared leadership, supported by training on trust, communication, and teamwork, fostering a more cohesive and participatory organizational culture.
- More structured local partnerships, following pilot experiences in Lebanon and Ukraine, with formal capacity-building processes that enable co-design and long-term sustainability.
- Updated policies, including a new Social & Media Policy promoting responsible digital communication and ongoing staff training, and the Whistleblowing Policy a concrete tool to protect those who responsibly report behavior inconsistent with AVSI’s principles.
- Advanced staff training, fostering strong links between field projects and academic research. We collaborate with universities to bridge theory and practice.
- Security: working in high-risk environments, we prioritize the health and safety of our staff. In 2024, the Global Safety and Security Advisor played a key role in defining guidelines, protocols, and targeted interventions to prevent risks and strengthen a culture of safety across all operational contexts.
A shared commitment
The Annual Report reflects our belief in integral human development — the idea that true progress involves every person and every aspect of life.
It is both a mirror and a compass: a mirror of what has been achieved, and a compass guiding how we want to act in the future, with professionalism, empathy, and vision.
