Project Manager for the GIFT Project

The Area Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of project activities under the GIFT Project in the assigned area. The position ensures effective field-level coordination with local authorities, community stakeholders, and project partners, while supporting the timely and high-quality delivery of activities in line with the approved work plan.
The Area Coordinator will act as AVSI’s focal point in the area and will work in close coordination with the Project Manager, the Private Sector Coordinator, the MEAL team, and the Logistics Department to ensure coherent, inclusive, and well-monitored project implementation.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Act as AVSI’s focal point in the area, maintaining regular communication with local authorities, associations, and community stakeholders;
• Support coordination with the Local Working Group (GDLL), including organizing meetings and following up on action points;
• Develop and monitor weekly and monthly activity plans, ensuring alignment with the project work plan and regular reporting to the Project Manager;
• Coordinate the implementation of project activities in the area, ensuring timely and quality delivery, and promptly communicate risks, challenges, or delays;
• Support the selection and follow-up of trainees, coordinate logistics for trainings (hospitality, catering, digital skills, business, language, etc.), and monitor attendance and results to be reported to the MEAL Department and the Project Manager;
• Support the Private Sector Coordinator in identifying and assisting MSMEs, home-based businesses, and local associations participating in project activities;
• Coordinate with the AVSI Logistics Department and the Project Manager for the delivery of equipment, in-kind support, and business capacity-building inputs, and follow up on specific interventions;
• Organize community meetings and outreach sessions, ensure transparent communication with beneficiaries, and collect essential visibility materials such as photos and success stories;
• Support procurement and logistics for trainings, workshops, and field activities, maintaining accurate records, inventories, and attendance lists;
• Ensure all activities comply with AVSI safeguarding, protection, and inclusion standards, and support evaluations and learning processes to strengthen project quality;
• Coordinate with the MEAL Department on the use of monitoring and evaluation tools for project activities in the field;
• Prepare and submit activity reports and other requested documentation in a timely and qualitative manner.

Essential Requirements

• Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Development Studies, Humanitarian Studies, or related fields.
• Professional Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in coordination of field activities (area or field coordinator positions);
- Experience working with governmental entities and local stakeholders;
- Experience supervising, coordinating, and monitoring field activities and staff.
• Language:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Arabic are mandatory.
- Good knowledge of English is considered an asset.

• Ability to work independently and under pressure;
• Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
