The Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of the 2-year project “RISE – Revitalizing Initiatives for Sustainable Empowerment in Cultural Heritage”, funded by the European Union and implemented in Rihab (Mafraq Governorate) and Makawer (Madaba Governorate).
He/She will be responsible of planning, coordinating and supervising all project’s activities, ensuring coordination with partners, staff management, monitoring of progress and results, and full compliance with donor requirements, in order to contribute to improve the livelihoods of women, youth, and vulnerable groups in Jordan by enhancing economic growth and employability in the cultural heritage sector.
Net monthly salary between €2.100 and €2.400 (Euro)

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Management and coordination of project activities;
• Preparation and updating of the project work plan and related activities in order to achieve the project’s objectives and results, and coordination with the MEAL department and the Operations department (logistics and administration);
• Planning the implementation of project activities by coordinating with donor, partners, stakeholders, and through the preparation and submission of PRs (Purchase Requests) to the Operations department;
• Build and maintain partnerships with ministries, local partners, local authorities, community-based organisations (CBOs), training institutions, tourism actors, private sector stakeholders, and donor institutions;
• Facilitate networking events, stakeholder coordination platforms, and thematic working groups;
• Supervision of activities and verification of their compliance with the project plan, budget, and timeline;
• Collaborate with the MEAL Department to ensure quality standards of implementation;
• Preparation of interim and final narrative and financial reports ensuring accuracy and high-quality submission as required by the donor, AVSI and local authorities;
• Verification of the accuracy of the administrative and financial documentation of project expenses;
• Management and coordination of staff involved in project implementation;
• Participation in monthly Project Progress Meetings with department managers to ensure proper project follow-up;
• Participation in sectoral working groups upon the CR’s request and in coordination with the thematic focal point, and preparation of meeting minutes;
• Perform any other duties assigned by the CR that are consistent with the role.

Essential Requirements

· University degree in International Cooperation, Economics, Cultural Heritage Management, Tourism Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields. A master's degree is considered an asset;
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management or project coordination, in international cooperation contexts;
· Preferred: experience in programs focused on the tourism and cultural heritage sector;
· Experience managing donor-funded projects (EU, AICS, UN, or similar), including reporting, budgeting, and compliance;
· Experience working with local authorities, CBOs, community groups, and private sector partners.
• Previous experience in the Middle East and Jordan will be considered an asset;
· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
· Knowledge of Arabic is a strong asset;
· Familiarity with business development services, green practices, digital skills, and vocational training methodologies.

Required skills and experiences

• Ability to articulate and coordinate effectively with the government, local and international NGOs, and other actors;
• Effective and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups including community members, youth, local authorities, and private sector actors;
• Strong reporting skills;
• Teamworking skills.
