For AVSI, private donors are an essential part of its work. They include individuals, groups of friends, families, schools, companies, and foundations who choose to support AVSI’s projects and initiatives—from emergency responses to long-term development—through transparent and traceable donations. Their contribution allows AVSI to reach vulnerable communities and build opportunities for education, health, and sustainable growth.
Beyond philanthropy: creating shared value
When companies and foundations join AVSI, the relationship goes beyond financial contributions. It becomes a partnership, where business expertise and resources are combined with AVSI’s long-standing presence in communities. Together, projects are designed to address real needs—education, health, sustainable livelihoods, inclusion—while contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this way, donors not only support change but actively participate in shaping it.
A network of trusted partners
Over the years, AVSI has built a strong network of private donors and major partners: Intesa Sanpaolo Charity Fund, Lavazza, San Zeno Foundation, IKEA Foundation, IVECO Group, Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust, F2I, and Unicoop Tirreno. Each of them brings a unique contribution, showing how different forms of engagement can converge towards the same goal: improving lives and building a more sustainable future.
Responding swiftly in times of crisis
In moments of emergency, this network proves essential. Three years of conflict have left children and families in Ukraine in deep need. In 2024, with the support of IVECO Group, AVSI launched the EDU–CARE project, opening a Community Center in Odessa. There, children find a safe space for learning and psychological support, while a mobile team reaches remote villages where help would otherwise never arrive. This initiative once again demonstrated the importance of international collaboration, enabling timely and effective responses to complex challenges.
Long-term commitments that change lives
Some partnerships highlight the impact of consistent, long-term support. Since 2001, Unicoop Tirreno has supported nearly 900 children across Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America through AVSI’s Distance Support Program. In 2024 alone, 172 children benefited thanks to the generosity of Unicoop members, who convert their loyalty points into donations. A simple everyday gesture—choosing how to use points—becomes the foundation for a child’s education and well-being.
With the Lavazza Foundation, AVSI works in Peru to strengthen the resilience of coffee farmers in the province of Jaén, Cajamarca. Families here are adopting sustainable agricultural practices that resist climate change while improving both productivity and coffee quality. This initiative not only enhances the livelihoods of farmers today but also secures the future of the entire coffee value chain, creating a ripple effect of development across the region.
A commitment to transparency and impact
What unites all private donors—individuals, families, schools, companies, and foundations—is the certainty that their contribution has meaning and impact. AVSI ensures that every resource is traceable, every project accountable, and every result measurable. This commitment to transparency strengthens trust and allows AVSI to continue building pathways of hope and opportunity where they are most needed.
The support of private donors confirms that real change is possible when resources, expertise, and commitment are shared. By working together, AVSI and its partners transform generosity into action and action into impact—offering children, families, and communities the chance to rebuild their future with dignity and hope.
