To effectively manage AVSI component of Education project “Back to the Future 6” funded by DG ECHO.
In this framework, the PM will be responsible for AVSI and AVSI’s sub-partners implementation in the South, Nabatieh and Bekaa Governorates. The scope of the work aims to Contribute to safe, sustained and inclusive access to quality education and wellbeing for vulnerable out-of-school children in Lebanon.
The PM is responsible for the correct allocation of project resources for the achievement of the project’s objectives. The PM is responsible for the supervision of the team assigned to the action, the coordination with AVSI different departments, and the supervision direct implementation of sub-granted partners.
Additionally, the PM is a key member of the Consortium Programme Leading Committee, striving to harmonize approaches and methodologies across all project areas of implementation.
Project Manager
Principali compiti e responsabilità
• Supported by the CoP, the Project Manager is responsible for providing overall leadership management and general technical direction of the BTF program, ensuring an integrated vision among different components and partners, and a focus on achieving the results defined in the contract.
• Designing activity overall, quarterly and monthly plans and supervising their implementation; proposing updates and amendment as needed either in relation to direct or indirect (Community based, partnerships with CBOs, etc) activities.
• Budget management in coordination with the Operation and finance, including monthly budget forecast and follow up.
• Ensure compliance with AVSI HQ and donor requirements, policies and regulations
• Guide and oversee the alignment of the budget to expected results; approve annual budgets and quarterly reports
• Prepare and manage the contracts with local partners, monitor closely the sub-granted local partners in terms of budget management, use of resources and reporting.
• Supporting project staff and partners in activities’ implementation and problem-solving.
• In coordination with the HR department, support the development and human and professional growth of staff through supporting internal and external training opportunities; support the recruitment process of the staff needed; participate in the HR planning and appraisal system; facilitate the organization/implementation of trainings organized by AVSI, WGs, donors, Ministries, etc. for the staff
• Drafting and developing the interim/final narrative and financial reports as requested by the donor, the COP and AVSI in close coordination with the PLC
• Providing regular reporting to Program and Operation
• Ensuring timely correct reporting to Sector or Interagency (e.g. activity info, etc.)
• Consolidate and approve annual workplans and activity, and their update
• Ensure the implementation of the project’s activities in line with: the project proposal, workplan and donors’ requirement and recommendation.
• Contribute to the overall process of coordination, harmonisation and learning and sharing process of the consortium
• Monitoring the implementation of work plans directly, through regular visits to project sites of activities
• Monitor closely the sub-granted local partners in terms of quality of implementation, results and reporting.
• Supporting the Capacity building for local partners.
• Implementation of the Program’s monitoring system in collaboration with the MEAL.
• Participating to the donors’ coordination mechanisms providing positive inputs
Requisiti essenziali
Education: BA in Education, Management, Social sciences, or similar fields, OR 3 years of field experience in addition to a non-related BA
Work experience: 3 years of experience as Project Manager, OR 1 year of experience as PM and 2 years in positions of technical relevance (e.g. Education Specialist, or prior experience with DG ECHO-funded actions)
Language: English Language proficiency (written and spoken), Arabic is an asset
