Management of a AICS funded project: “CAMBIO! Azione a favore del clima e dell’ambiente in Mozambico a integrazione dei piani di risposta delle città costiere”.

Principali compiti e responsabilità

• Management and coordination of project activities;
• Together with the project team, planning and development of activities in the field;
• Contributing to the recruitment, inception and training of AVSI’s programme staff, and contribute to their empowerment and further professional development;
• Management of the projects’ staff, promotion of capacity building and co-responsibility within the team;
• Development and maintain of excellent relations with donors, partners and local authorities and with all stakeholders involved (institutions, donor, community etc.);
• Support in the supervision and verification of administrative and procurement procedures;
• Support for verifying the correctness of the administrative reporting of project expenses;
• Coordination of activities with respect to the schedule defined by the chronogram;
• Drafting, revision and updating of technical documents such as: ToR, Financing Proposals, General Operational Plans etc.;
• Development or support the development of AVSI project compliance documents such as: procurement plan, communication plan, MEAL plan, Appraisal for staff;
• Preparation of interim and final, narrative and accounting reports of the project to the donor and competent authorities;
• To represent AVSI in relevant coordination structures (i.e. Cluster and Working groups) and other meetings at provincial/district level;
• To carry-out any other duties and/or responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Requisiti essenziali

Qualification: MA/MSC in Urban Planning, Architecture, Development, Disaster Management, Environmental Studies, Social Science etc.

Work Experience:
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience of working with an INGO
• Minimum 3 years managing/supporting implementation of community based DRR assessment and/or projects;

Language Proficiency: excellent knowledge of the English and Italian, Portuguese preferable.

Competenze ed esperienze richieste

• Practical knowledge on local urban planning and disaster risk management planning process including development of the legal documents;
• Experience in running training programmes to various stakeholders (i.e. local authorities and communities) about climate change and urban development;
• Previous work experience in the international cooperation sector in Africa or Mozambique;
• Knowledge of Computer skills: Excellent knowledge of the main Office IT tools, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of GIS will be an advantage.
