The project

“Promoting legality and good practices in sustainable management by setting up a framework for exchange and training among EU customers, exporters and small and medium-sized enterprises in the Côte d'Ivoire”.

Funded by FAO EU Flegt programme (99,215 €)

Sectors: environmental protection, forest protecion, training, work

The main target of the project is to promote legality and good practices in sustainable management by setting up a framework for exchange and training among EU customers, exporters and small and medium-sized enterprises in the Côte d'Ivoire

The project aims at reaching four main goals:

  • To improve the knowledge of local SMEs which are working in the international market, in terms of legality and sustainable management
  • To improve local SMEs’ ability to enhance raw material (Partner Federlegno Arredi will send experts from Italy to Ivory Coast to provide training)
  • To improve the operators’ overall understanding of international market needs and to enhance producers-custumers relationship in order to counterillegal deforestation.
  • Provide visibility to the project and share results and lessons learned.

In may 2017 four carpenters, three men and a woman, traveled to Milan to take part in a training held by Federlegno
