Uganda. With Meeting Point International and Luigi Giussani schools in Kampala
Help us provide medical care, nutritional support and education for slum children and their families.
Uganda is a country which has make enormous strides in its path of development, but it still has a great number of problems to face. The emergency caused by COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the hardships of the weakest sections of society. The state of emergency, which started in March 2020, has caused considerable difficulties, especially due to the closure of schools and limited access to many essential services.
In this project AVSI will support the Meeting Point International in Kampala, particularly in assisting women suffering from HIV, with medical care, nutritional and psycho-social support, the creation and strengthening of small income-generating activities. Thanks to the Distance Support program, the Luigi Giussani schools will guarantee education to children living in the slums, along with caring for their families and communities.
