As an integral part of its task, AVSI proposes both information meetings and a course where the future adoptive family is helped to explore in depth the very meaning of their own choice and all the aspects related to international adoption.

Purpose of the information meeting, held between an expert from AVSI and the future adoptive parents, is not only for a mutual acquaintance, but also to provide complete and precise information about the procedure of international adoption and to propose the AVSI’s operational approach. The preparation path develops through a few meetings, held by experts with the support of families with a long established adoption experience.

All meetings are held on the basis of a defined approach, but open to dialogue and confrontation in order to examine in depth the issues related to the couple, the foreign child, the relationship between parents and child, the new family, the integration of the minor in the family and society. At the end of this path, the future adoptive parents, who have received formal approval to adoption, may appoint AVSI with international adoption, and define all these aspects during a meeting with the AVSI’s experts.

AVSI remains at the side of the future adoptive couple throughout the entire adoption procedure, collaborating with all the authorities and offices concerned, both in Italy and abroad. In addition AVSI assists the new family in the post-adoption period, through meetings and with the friendly support of families with a long-established adoption experience.
